MARVEL Mystic Mayhem Ends Service on April 1, 2026

MARVEL Mystic Mayhem, the team-based tactical RPG developed by NetEase Games, is officially entering its end-of-service phase. The developer has confirmed that all new content development will cease on April 1, 2026, marking the beginning of the game’s final chapter.

The shutdown announcement comes as a surprise, especially considering that MARVEL Mystic Mayhem launched just six months ago. Revealed in October 2024 and released globally on June 25, 2025, the game was positioned as a strategic RPG experience that allowed players to form squads using iconic Marvel heroes and villains.

Servers Will Remain Online Until Final Shutdown

Despite the halt in new content development, players will still be able to log in and play all existing content for the foreseeable future. NetEase Games has promised to provide at least 60 days’ notice before the servers officially go offline.

To ease the transition, the development team also confirmed that monetization will be reduced starting December 25, 2025. Alongside this change, players who continue playing until the end will receive small gratitude rewards as a thank-you for their continued support.

Final Characters and Story Content Still Coming

While no new content will be developed after April 1, 2026, several previously planned updates will still be released over the next few months. This includes the arrival of multiple 3-Star characters, such as:

  • Jean Grey
  • Venom
  • Wolverine
  • Cyclops
  • Morgan le Fay

In addition, a new main storyline chapter titled “Dream in the Hive” is scheduled to go live in January 2026. However, after March 19, 2026, no further characters, story chapters, or gameplay updates are planned.

Another Marvel Title Shuts Down Under NetEase

The closure of MARVEL Mystic Mayhem marks the second Marvel IP from NetEase Games to shut down in the past two years. Previously, Marvel Super War, a Marvel-themed MOBA experience, ended its service on June 27, 2024.

MARVEL Mystic Mayhem was a free-to-play tactical RPG focused on team composition and strategy. Players could mix and match heroes and villains across classes such as Striker, Defender, Controller, and Fighter to overcome story missions and tactical challenges.

A Rough Time for Mobile Games

With yet another shutdown announcement, this month has proven to be especially rough for mobile games, with many titles already scheduled to close in 2026. While the early end of MARVEL Mystic Mayhem is disappointing, fans can only hope the mobile gaming industry sees a more positive turn in the coming year.

For now, players can continue enjoying MARVEL Mystic Mayhem’s remaining content and final story updates before the servers eventually go dark.
