Electronic Arts has officially announced that Real Racing 3 will be shutting down on March 19, 2026, marking the end of an era for one of mobile gaming’s most iconic racing titles. First launched in 2013, the award-winning racing game delivered 12 years of unforgettable memories, competitive thrills, and authentic motorsport experiences.
A Difficult Decision After Years of Success
According to the developers, the decision to sunset the game came after much consideration. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the team explained:
“After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to sunset Real Racing 3.”
They also reflected on the community’s incredible journey, calling the past twelve years “a remarkable journey with all of you on Real Racing 3.”
What Made Real Racing 3 So Special
For many players, Real Racing 3 stood out as one of the most realistic racing games on mobile. Over the years, it featured:
- 600+ licensed cars from 52 manufacturers
- Iconic brands like Porsche, Koenigsegg, Ford, and more
- 59+ circuits across 28 real-world locations
- A unique system requiring players to maintain and service cars before racing
These elements helped the game build a loyal fanbase and become a staple of mobile racing for over a decade.
What Happens Before End of Service (EOS)
While the shutdown is confirmed, players can still enjoy the game until the servers officially close:
- In-app purchases have been disabled
- The game has been removed from app stores
- Players can spend remaining in-game currencies
