RF Online Next's World Bosses are among the most exciting and rewarding pieces of content the game offers. This guide covers everything you need to know — from the boss schedules and entry rules to the best strategies for maximizing your damage contribution and climbing the rank rewards ladder.
What Is a World Boss in RF Online Next?
World Bosses are large-scale cooperative encounters where all players in the world must team up to take down a single powerful enemy. As the boss's appearance time approaches, entry restrictions are lifted and players are automatically moved to a dedicated battle field.
Each boss appears on a fixed schedule at 12:00, 20:00, and 23:00 on specific days of the week. Currently there are four World Bosses in the game, each with their own appearance days.
Boss Appearance Schedule
Level Requirement
To join any World Boss battle, your character must be at Level 35 or above. The good news is this level is reachable in a single day simply by following the main story quests. If you're brand new to RF Online Next, prioritize leveling up before anything else. Vritra is the recommended starting boss for new players.
Entry Tickets and Daily Reward Limits
Entering the World Boss battle field requires an entry ticket. One ticket is distributed to each player per day, and it is consumed only after you defeat the boss and collect your rewards. Because of this, you cannot receive rewards more than once per day.
How to Participate in and Defeat the World Boss
- 1 Open the Schedule menu — tap the clock icon on the far left of the main screen to access the World Boss schedule. When the entry period opens, a shortcut button will also appear at the top of the screen; tapping it is the fastest way to enter.
- 2 Enter the dedicated field early — you can enter up to 10 minutes before the boss spawns. Use this time to position yourself in the front row, as being closer to the boss gives you more total attack time.
- 3 Deal damage to earn contribution points — once the battle begins, focus entirely on dealing damage. Your rank at the end of the fight is determined by your contribution points, which are awarded based on the total damage you deal.
- 4 Collect your rank-based rewards — after the boss is defeated, rewards such as adventure coins, equipment boxes, and memory chips are distributed. Higher ranks receive significantly better rewards, so always aim to maximize your damage output.
How to Efficiently Increase Your Rank
Your rank is entirely determined by your damage contribution. The following strategies will help you squeeze every point of damage out of each World Boss attempt.
1. Position Yourself at the Front During the Waiting Phase
The waiting stage before the boss spawns has a front row and a back row. Always aim for the front row center so that when the boss appears you are already in attack range. Every second spent closing the gap is a second you're not dealing damage.
2. Deploy Both MAU and Launcher Simultaneously
Both the MAU and launcher can be used free of charge for 10 minutes once per day. To maximize DPS, summon your MAU and deploy your launcher at the same moment the battle begins. Using them together multiplies your damage output significantly compared to using either one alone.
3. Strengthen Your Sacred Weapon
- Upgrade your Sacred Weapon using nodes to increase its damage output. Nodes can be acquired in large quantities through the Season Pass or value packs.
- Ride your Sacred Weapon to negate the boss's knockback attacks. Being knocked away reduces your total attack time and lowers your contribution score.
- When deploying your Sacred Weapon, avoid placing it directly in front of the boss — the high concentration of players there increases the chance of it being hit repeatedly.
- If your Sacred Weapon's durability is low, spread out your MAU and launcher to avoid them all taking simultaneous hits from the same attack.
4. Equip a Firepower-Focused Bio-Suit
Since contribution points are purely based on damage, your bio-suit choice matters. The Arbiter and Phantom Biosuits are both excellent picks because they offer higher individual attack power compared to other available suits. Swap to a damage-focused build before entering the World Boss field.
5. Board Your MAU if You're Taking Too Much Damage
If the boss's attacks are overwhelming you, immediately board your MAU. This lets you continue dealing damage while absorbing hits with the MAU's health pool instead of your own. The key priority is never stopping your attacks — any time you spend downed or recovering is lost contribution.
6. Use Boost Items Before the Battle
Before the boss spawns, activate any attack or stat-boost items in your inventory. These buffs are temporary but can meaningfully increase your damage per second during the fight, which directly translates into more contribution points and a better final rank.
7. Choose Off-Peak Times for Higher Ranking Potential
If the boss is being defeated too quickly by a large crowd and you're struggling to accumulate enough contribution, consider switching to a less-populated time slot. With fewer participants:
- The boss survives longer, giving you more total time to attack.
- You face less competition for the top contribution spots.
- Players who previously ranked lower in peak hours often find themselves in the top tier during off-peak runs.
