RF Online Next: How to Deal With Losing

How to Deal With Losing

(toc)

Struggling to win in RF Online Next? Before giving up, revisit the fundamentals. Improving your Biosuits, equipment, and character progression can make a dramatic difference. Here is a full breakdown of strategies to turn things around.

Reconsidering Biosuits and Rover

Always equip the strongest Biosuits and Rovers available to you. Biosuit and Rover summon tickets can be purchased daily at Shop → Exchange Shop → Credit. Collecting multiple copies of the same item lets you synthesize them, which may yield higher-grade items.

📌 Tip! Summon tickets distributed during events are placed in your inventory. Double-check your inventory — you may already have some waiting to be used!

Strengthen Your Equipment

Upgrade kits — obtainable from shops and other sources — are used to enhance your equipment. Aim for +5 first. Since gear is difficult to acquire early in the game, avoid pushing to +6 unless you have multiple strong pieces: a failed +6 enhancement can destroy the item.

📌 Tip! If you have multiple copies of powerful equipment, enhancing to +6 will unlock one additional stat bonus!

Prioritize attack or defense based on what you're lacking. Weapons, arm armor, and accessories (earrings, necklaces, circlets) generally boost attack stats. Other armor and accessories focus on defense. Strengthen whichever stat you need most.

📌 Tip! Circlets are hard to come by in the early game, so don't stress if you're missing one early on.

Prime Membership Is a Low Priority

Using an Arcane Node gives a 20% chance of successfully priming equipment, making it stronger. However, Arcane Nodes consume a lot of resources. Especially early on, it is better to use them on MAUs and launchers, which provide reliable stat increases with no risk of failure.

📌 Tip! MAUs and launchers can't be used in boss battles, but upgrading your God Arc boosts your character's stats through its passive effects!

Obtain Powerful Equipment

If your current gear is holding you back, actively seek out stronger equipment. Rare gear can sometimes be found on the guild market for as little as 10 diamonds.

How to earn diamonds: Sell items in the guild market or purchase them in-game. Early on, supply is plentiful, so look for items with low registration numbers. Equipment has a minimum selling price of 10 diamonds with a small fee deducted — selling two items is roughly enough to buy one rare piece for around 10 diamonds.

📌 Tip! You cannot join a guild until you have advanced to a certain point in the story. Keep progressing!

Consider Purchasing Skills With Diamonds

Once you have enough diamonds, buying skill cards is a worthwhile option. Recommended picks include Optimize and Parry Training (defensive skills) and Always Active II (an offensive skill).

📌 Tip! Without battle data for enhancement items, their priority drops. Focus on reaching +9 first to avoid major failures during equipment enhancement!

Reconsidering Talic

Higher-grade Talic generally provides better stats. Check whether you have items that can be synthesized for an upgrade. Talic can be obtained in the Biosuit Training mode of the dungeon, so make sure to run it regularly.

Fill In Your Collection

For easily obtainable equipment and low-enhancement items, actively fill in your collection slots. While specific collections are ideal, stat bonuses are awarded based on the total number of registered collectibles — so prioritize the easiest ones to fill first.

📌 Tip! When you have some free time, work on boosting the stats that highlight your profession's strengths!

Open Treasure Capsules

Opening treasure capsules can reward you with collection items and equipment. You can also receive collection pieces and gear based on your exploration progress. Since they are relatively accessible, open them as often as possible.

Tip — Viewpoints: Visiting viewpoints earns collectibles and other rewards while also advancing your exploration reports. You can warp to any viewpoint via Exploration Map → Viewpoints by clicking the marker next to the area name.

AFK Farming to Gain Levels

As your level increases, your stats rise significantly. If you are stuck in training, try AFK farming. Using offline mode, the AI will fight on your behalf even while you are away from the game.

📌 Tip! While offline mode is still locked, you can't close the screen — but make use of exploration plans and other passive features in the meantime!

Level 30+: Don't Forget the Android Junkyard

Once you reach level 30, the Android Junkyard dungeon becomes available. It offers approximately 3× the experience points and about 2× the CR compared to field farming, making it one of the best daily activities for leveling up. There is a 60-minute daily entry limit.

Enhance MAU and Launchers

Although MAU launchers cannot be used in certain areas (including main quest boss battles), they are extremely valuable for leveling. Enhancing them also passively boosts your character's own stats, making the investment worthwhile even beyond combat use.

Check Active Events

From time to time, early-game-friendly events appear — such as defeating a set number of monsters or spending Credit — that are straightforward to complete. These events occasionally reward items not normally obtainable in the early game, such as artifacts. Check the event board regularly and complete anything feasible.

Join a Guild

After progressing to a certain point in the story, you can join a guild. Guild membership offers meaningful benefits: guild buffs, guild events, and increased combat power through guild content. Look for a newly formed or actively managed guild to get the most out of this feature.

Use Buff Items

If you are struggling with specific content, the best long-term solution is continued character development. However, for immediate roadblocks, buff items can bridge the gap. They can be purchased in the shop for 100 Credit, or obtained through updates and events. Multiple buff items can be stacked, and some are specifically designed for PvP, so choose based on your current need.

📌 Tip! Buff items can be combined, so feel free to activate multiple at once. There are PvP-specific buffs too — select the right one for the content you're tackling!

How to Deal With the Boss in the Main Quest

Main quest bosses are intentionally tough. Defeating one often unlocks easier progression through several subsequent quests. Use as many buff items as possible before entering a boss fight — overcoming one difficult boss can significantly smooth out the road ahead.

MAU and Launchers Cannot Be Used in Boss Battles

During boss battles, both MAUs and launchers become unavailable. This means you cannot use them to restore HP or increase firepower — you must rely entirely on your character's base stats. This is why investing in your character build and gear beforehand is critical.

Keep Your Distance and Recover HP

Some bosses will chase you aggressively, but in most cases you can create distance and recover HP while kiting. It turns into a game of tag: if you successfully avoid incoming attacks, your HP regenerates. Repeat this pattern while continuing to deal damage, and chip the boss down gradually.

When Stuck, Train First

Main quest boss battles are designed around a minimum level of character development. Quick gear tweaks alone may not be enough. When you hit a wall, treat it as a signal to step back and build up combat power through other content before retrying. Useful alternative content to level up with includes:

  • Side quests and faction quests
  • World bosses and field bosses
  • Zone Dungeons
  • Training Ground
  • Guild Content
  • Limited-time and day-of-the-week content (available from mid-game onward)

Work through the content above to raise your combat power, then return to the main quest when you feel ready.

How to Seek Advice When You Can't Win

Ask a Friend

If you have any questions, asking a friend is always the fastest route. Use the Whisper feature to send direct messages to specific players. Keep in mind that friends at a similar stage may have the same problems, so reaching further into your network can help.

Ask Your Guild Members

Guilds can hold up to 50 members, meaning your question can reach many eyes at once. Experienced players are likely to offer advice that makes a real difference. Many guilds also maintain their own Discord servers — posting there ensures your message doesn't get buried in the in-game chat.
