What Are MAU and Launchers?
In RF Online Next, MAU and Launchers are classified as Sacred Weapons — powerful combat units that significantly boost your fighting capability.
MAU (Main Action Unit)
A MAU is a powerful mech robot that your character boards and pilots directly. It is deployed for a limited time by tapping or swiping its icon on-screen.
- Deployed for a limited time per sortie
- Exceptionally strong against single enemies
- Best used during boss battles for maximum damage output
Launcher
A Launcher is an autonomous turret robot that you deploy alongside your character. Unlike the MAU, the Launcher cannot move — but it automatically attacks nearby enemies independently.
How to Unlock the MAU
The MAU becomes available as you progress through the main story. Here is what you need to do:
- 1 Progress through the Main Chapter 3 story quests.
- 2 The Hangar option will appear in the menu once you reach the relevant chapter milestone.
- 3 If the MAU icon is not yet visible, continue clearing main chapters until it unlocks.
Holy Gas — MAU & Launcher Fuel
Both MAU and Launchers require a fuel called Holy Gas to operate. Understanding this system is key to using your Sacred Weapons efficiently.
Free Daily Usage
Manual Refill from the Hangar
- Open the Hangar from the menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Tap the Refill button to instantly add 1 minute of Holy Gas charge.
Auto-Refill Setting
Enable Holy Gas Auto-Refill Settings on the Hangar screen to avoid manual refilling after every sortie. When your gauge reaches 100%, it will automatically recharge to 10 minutes of operating time at the end of a mission.

Repairs & Maintenance
After a sortie, your MAU and Launcher are automatically retrieved to the Hangar and begin auto-repairs. They cannot be deployed again until repairs are complete.
Checking Repair Time
You can view the remaining repair time directly from the Hangar screen.
Instant Repair Tickets
Speed up repairs by using Instant Repair Tickets, available for purchase in the Loyalty Shop.
How to Obtain MAU and Launchers
Blueprints from Achievements (Max Level)
Reach max level on your current MAU/Launcher to receive the next unit's blueprint as an achievement reward.
MAU and Launchers are upgraded sequentially from their starting level. When a unit reaches its maximum level, you will automatically receive the blueprint for the next unit as an achievement reward.
Blueprints from Monsters (Special Mechs)
MAU and Launchers classified as "Special" require blueprints dropped by specific monsters and bosses. You can check which enemies drop the blueprints in the blueprint details screen.
How to Upgrade MAU and Launchers
Enhancement Nodes — The Core Material
To level up your MAU or Launcher, go to the Hangar and consume:
- Credits
- Enhancement Nodes (specific to each Sacred Weapon type)
Each enhancement node slot can also be substituted with an Arcane Node as an alternative material.
MAU vs. Launcher — Different Node Types
Rover MAU Effect Bonus
Some rare and higher-grade Rovers have a special MAU Effect that boosts your stats while you are riding in an MAU. When choosing your Rover, keep an eye out for this bonus — it provides a meaningful stat increase during MAU combat.
Where to Farm Enhancement Nodes
Best Source: Scion Training Grounds (Daily)
Your primary daily source of enhancement nodes is the Sacred Weapons Training mode inside the Scion Training Grounds dungeon. Enhancement nodes are added to the reward pool starting from Stage 71, so push your progress daily.
All Enhancement Node Sources — Ranked
| Source | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scion Training Grounds | ★★★★★ | Best daily source; nodes available from Stage 71 of Sacred Weapons Training mode |

| Events | ★★★☆☆ | Included in some event rewards; check active events regularly |

Material Conversion
Material Conversion (unlocked at Lv. 50) can occasionally yield enhancement nodes from rare equipment.
Material Conversion is a feature unlocked at Level 50. It lets you convert non-bound equipment of Rare grade or higher into other equipment or items. Enhancement nodes may appear as one of the conversion results, though this is not a reliable method to farm them intentionally.
Quick Summary & Daily Checklist
